The Bittern Line, a Community Railway Partnership which supports and publicises the railway from Norwich to Cromer and Sheringham. The railway forms part of the National Rail system. The Partnership was formed by Norfolk County Council and Anglia Railways  in 1997, additional funding partners have joined and funds raised are used to promote the railway and the surrounding area to develop economic and environmental benefits for residents, visitors and tourists.

The line is some 30 miles long, connecting the magnificent city of Norwich with the north Norfolk coastal towns of Cromer and Sheringham, via the Norfolk Broads at Salhouse, Hoveton and Wroxham. Its name recognises a special, local bird, which has a distinctive booming call. A regular, almost hourly service operates along the route (less frequent on winter Sundays) which has been described as "One of the 50 most scenic lines in the world".

You can see even more local attractions, offers and maps at the Norfolk Tourist Attraction website.
