Holt

This fine 18th century Georgian market town, is one of the most attractive in North Norfolk. Boasting many art galleries, antique and book shops and wonderful places to eat located along the high street and tucked away in hidden, charming courtyards and alleyways.

A short walk away is Spout Hills and Holt Country Park, a 100 acre woodland with oak, pine and silver birch trees, picnic areas, nature trails and a playground.

Just outside the centre of Holt is the North Norfolk Railway station where you can catch the Poppy Line steam and diesel train services to Weybourne and Sheringham. A bus also runs from the station to Holt market place.

A short distance from Holt are the ruins of Baconsthorpe Castle, a moated amd fortified 15th century manor house, that was owned by the Heydon Norfolk family. Also worth a visit is Letheringsett Watermill, Norfolk's only working watermill, producing flour from locally grown wheat. Each summer, Holt hosts its famous festival where it becomes home to street performers, musicians, poets, actors, dancers, artists and comedians.

Holt is only a short distances to the North Norfolk Coast with superb walking, golfing, sailing and bird watching activities.
