“An excellent cottage in an excellent location handy for the town but quiet. The cottage is clean and well appointed and very comfortable. We have already recommended it to friends and are considering coming again next year We had a lovely holiday thank you”

“Yes we enjoyed our stay in Poppy cottage a perfect location for us we did have a minor issue in the property which was quickly resolved by Keys which did not affect our stay as we still enjoyed it there ”

Colin S

“Poppy Cott is a lovely place to stay. It is well furnished and equipped with a nice quiet courtyard garden and is perfectly situated for the town and the commons and heath. ”

Mark J

“Excellent advice regarding driving to the cottage due numerous road signs informing that the road was closed These remain during the week although to our knowledge no work was carried out. This illustrates the detail /care shown by the staff to ensure we had a relaxing break.
Like wise the e-mails informing me of the payment details and arrival details were much appreciated.

The availability of car parking outside the cottage was there. As a base for walking the easy assess to public transport is one of the reasons for returning to this cottage.

Michael H

“A well located cottage pleasantly quiet and yet within easy reach of the town and good local bus services. The cottage was clean and tidy and well equipped with everything needed and could easily be moved from good to excellent by attention to a few details such as re-painting the bathroom ceiling and installing an extract fan with an overrun feature to reduce the problems of many such ceilings suffering discolouration from moisture. We particularly liked features such as the garden gates and fences which made it easy to contain the dog and the easy access to the common for his short walks. I suspect parking may be an issue at the busiest times of the year although the proximity of several un restricted nearby streets should mean few difficulties and our impressions may have been influenced by the significant gas main replacement works being undertaken at the time of our visit with vehicles displaced by road closures.

“Sheringham ideal for me to meet up with family living in the area. Cottage good for family meals. Car parking a bonus.”

Pamela O

“Enjoyed the stay in Poppy Cott which is near a number of favourite walks and was pleased to see new seating in the lounge which was very comfortable.”

David Briers

“We have stayed in this cottage several times. It is on Beeston Common and you can see the Bump from the windows. It's lovely and quiet but within easy reach of the shops. Lovely and clean and spacious. It has a small courtyard at the rear with table and chairs and use of bbq. ”

Sylvia G

“Comfortable cottage in good location. Very quiet. Problem with dishwasher. Basic kitchen utensils - knives were blunt. Stairs were very steep for people with mobility issues.”

Hilary B

“Poppy Cott is a delightful little cottage in a great location. Very easy parking right outside and a great place to walk from, either over the common, onto The Bump and beyond or down into the town and beach. The cottage is in good condition and has very comfy furniture and beds. ”

Lesley P

“Beautiful end of terrace cottage with a bijoux courtyard garden at the back with patio furniture and room for the dogs to Sun puddle looking out at the allotments. The house has an amazing kitchendiner all fully equipped with dishwasher and washing machine. Beautiful real fire place in the dining room . Very comfy sitting room with gorgeous sofas and a log burner. Then out to the stairs that are very narrow and steep, which were a bit of a challenge to walk up due to having mobility issues. Amazing double bedroom facing the Beeston Bump. I mean who wouldn't want to wake up and see that gorgeous scenery?! Bathroom has a huge shower, but the whole room could do with a freshen up. All in all a lovely cottage set on common land so ample dog walking straight from the door.

Diane S

“Poppy Cottage was larger than impression given in photos. It was in an ideal location for both human and canine guests, re. walking on common/Beeston Bump, and access quickly to town. Knowing the area well; Sheringham is an ideal base from which to to explore the North Norfolk Coast, and inland towns/villages. There are some superb eateries of all types within easy reach. I would recommend No. 10, Sheringham/The Two Lifeboats, Sheringham/The Starfish, Sheringham, and Wells Crab House Seafood Restaurant, Wells-next-the-Sea.
The accommodation was comfortable and warm. A couple of small queries, were dealt with very quickly by Louise at Keys.

Kay M

“Always a car park ; near a shop and supermarket. short distance to public transport. warm and open views from back and front.

Michael H

“This cottage is nicely situated overloooking common land at the front and only 10 minutes walk to the town centre or the beach. There are allotment gardens at the back - nice to look out over but not attached to the cottage. Ths was our second summer holiday visit. First time weather was great, this time cold and windy. But the cottage was comfortable and cosy (heating worked well and there is a wood stove we did not use) and there is lots to do in the region so a good holiday. However, the cottage has some drawbacks. However our score on condition is 3, cleanliness 4 because there is some damp (downstairs cupboards, upstairs bathroom), and the kitchen is in need of improvements eg worn wood counter, ktichen sink tap flexes, drainer doesn't drain very well, dshwasher not completely effecive. DIning area and bathroom lighting dim. Bathroom sink drain not easy to clean, WC not flushing 100%, extractor fan not venitnig effectively (so mould forming on tiles). So our feeling was it is time for the owners to look to look around and upgrade the facilities. This has, for example, has been done outside with new paving and outdoor furntiture since a previous visit. So hopefully the indoor work will happen soon. The service form Keys was very good (missing plates replaced, and a clean migweight quilt provide witin 24 hours of requesting).

“Poppy Cott is situated on the pretty and quiet Beeston Common in Sheringham, a town which has good local facilities, including shops and cafes as well as some good walks, all within walking distance of the cottage. An excellent base for visiting North Norfolk.”

Ailsa C

“Good cottage in perfect location. Short walk to town and prom. Great for the dog with the common on the doorstep. ”

Lynn W

“For us, a great location with a lovely view of Beeston Bump and easy access to the North Norfolk coastal path. Nice to have an enclosed courtyard garden - a real afternoon suntrap - comfy outdoor furniture.
Quiet, and peaceful location. Comfortable beds & lounge. Well-equipped kitchen but toaster is nearly past its best (not a great problem for us!).
Wi-Fi was excellent. Great to have parking right outside the cottage. Easy walking distance to the town of Sheringham. Great public transport links. Will definitely stay here again!!

Andrea A

“Poppy Cottage is in an ideal position if you have a dog as it is on Beeston Common with direct access to the Coastal walk. The cottage was lovely and warm, being very comfortable, The kitchen diner is a big well equipped room. Parking is outside the property. We would certainly recommend this cottage to anyone to have a lovely stay.”
